whats the reason for breaking up?

Far too many problems. Patience was never one of my virtues, and patience seems to be critical in a relationship with an aspie.
We were never really 'compatible' to begin with, but we both tried, and for the most part it worked. But that was last year, when we both had no responsibilities and loads of free time. The minimum amount of effort and consideration he requires is quite high, and I just don't have the time & energy to deal with all this right now.
Plus I don't think a future with him is right for me. If it's not going to work out anyways, then prolonging the relationship will just make it harder when we do eventually split.

I'd say if it was me - i'd explain all that and then break it off completely.

Dont beat around the bush, dont lie or ease the truth.

I had that happen and i hated feeling like i was deemed incapable of handing the truth. Its the most patronizing feeling in the world.

In the end we just want the same respect NTs get.

Explain it with honesty, answer his questions (again with honesty), and end it with closure.
