I have only ever seen that once before 2 years ago :D

The context was that earlier he asked for an ice cream in a cone using his PECS. I gave him one but he didn't want it, which was odd so I ended up eating it myself (tough job but someone had to do it).
An hour later he asked again, I made one and gave it to him, he held it lightly and pointed to the picture on the box of cones it had a picture of a chocolate ice cream in a cone, but I was giving him vanilla! (hes eating the vanilla one now but I told him we'd get some chocolate in the shopping. does he understand..I like to think so I don't really know)

Anyway it was COOL!! !

I question more and more if nonverbal kids are actually very aware but just unable to communicate. That sounds like a good indication along those lines.

Ice cream. The great communicator! :D

I am betting he understands. Otherwise he would just have given the vanilla ice cream cone back to you again.

Nice! And it's nice that you understood him when he pointed, too!

He did it again, he did it again!! I knew what he wanted, so I held him up close and said, "use your pointer" and he pointed to the lollies.
Woot!
