I didn't have a social life in high school, but I wasn't being bullied either. I was incessantly being bullied before so it was much better. I changed schools to a somewhat better environment. People were too focused studying for finals and enjoying their life and stuff. I was too busy playing online games. However, I was being pressured to have good grades and anxiety was the plate of the day. I entered my college of choice anyway. I'm still anxious but at least I'm not depressed anymore. Since I enjoy the subjects a lot. Life has been much better overall but I'm still friendless. At least the environment here is much friendlier and there are nice people overall.

During the first year of high school my parents divorced and me and my siblings and our mother moved to an apartment building (I haven't ever lived in one by then) and that change triggered a massive change in me, I became depressed, more socially anxious and from there on until the last year I didn't really have much of a social life after school days. We moved again when I was fifteen and none of my classmates ever visited that home. I think moving places always makes me shutdown or even feel like a completely different person, so I think I acted weird, and especially girls didn't really want to be around me, I didn't get invited to get-togethers and such. Hurted then and hurts still.

it was nonexistent lol. I ate lunch alone most of the time. I was painfully awkward and anxious. I stopped going to school for 4 months because of it and almost dropped out. It was a shame because I did great academically and loved that aspect of school. College is better because you can peacefully be a loner and there is less pressure to be social.

Good. I was part of the stage crew, a collection of the nerdiest of the nerds. We were given a lot of leeway in our need to buy certain pieces of equipment, paint and such, which allowed us to be gone for hours at a time. Chess clubbers were in awe of our nerdish skills.

For me, it all gave me the ability to be supported by others even though I was only then beginning to lose my selective mutism. I didn't need or want more of a social life than I had at the time with my fellow stagehands.

People really just leave me alone; there was some bullying in grade 9 because I didn’t speak at all (selective mutism) but that was about it, although come to think of it I was laughed at today. I don’t have any friends at that school but I have friends and a girlfriend outside of my school. Most of my teachers are nice. So I’m not socially active but I’m cool with that.

High school was fine. Socially things weren’t perfect but I wasn’t really bullied outside of *MAYBE* (I have to think about that again) isolated minor events. Middle school was far worse in that regard for reasons that were self-inflicted in retrospect.

Anyway, my academics were fine, graduated in the top 10% of my class, am at a state university as a double major on the Dean’s List every semester. Socially, though, I still kind of am a loser. Freshman year is probably the worst in my life, particularly second semester due to isolation and many so close but yet so far scenarios with my peers. I still don’t really have any close friends on campus.

social life? I have several friends & I usually go out every 3rd/4th week. for most of my school yrs, I was bullied, mainly by jocks. to my surprise, I was classified as an intellectually & verbally gifted student by several teachers. I'm going to college next yr. I'm looking for a new start, a fresh 1 & rn, I'm trying my absolute best to improve myself, mentally, physically, emotionally & socially

My entire School experience up to college was awful. I just didn't fit in. I dropped out at 15 and ended up getting my High School equivalency (GED) and finishing my education in college. College was easier, because I didn't need to fit into a particular group, I could set my own schedule, and learn what I wanted to. I also found it easier to interact with adults rather than children.

I was a bit of a nonentity, although fairly recognisable due to being both one of the tallest people in my year group and one of the heaviest. This may be why I wasn't bullied that much - people could see that I could fight back.

Most of my lunchtimes were spent in computer rooms and libraries.

Primary school was fine and bearable, didn't make any friends but I didn't really have the concept of a friend back then or what it even was, never occured to me.

Secondary school (High school) was atrocious and I hated it and ended up dropping out cause of bullying and just not liking the bigness of it all.

Eventually went to a Special Needs school, much better and the best school ever, although I still didn't make long-term friends.

Then college I hated the social atmosphere, everyone in my course class was annoying cause they didn't really want to be there (it was an entry level course so most there only chose it cause they didn't know what else to do or their parents forced them on to it) so of course they mostly acted out and misbehaved. I chose to do animal care cause I didn't know what else to do / didn't really have the grades to do much else anyway, plus I liked animals anyways (Animal Care course, which also included some horticulture). But it was real hard mentally cause of the social atmosphere (the work was fine and easy), I dropped out for a little bit on the 2nd year but finished it in the end.

Since then I have just been at home to avoid a mental breakdown.
