Whats the best Home Server I can get for under £180 that would host a website or a game server that is quite?
I Have an IBM server as of today and it sounds like a jumbo jet when it is on.

Replace the fans with something quieter? :?
That should work out cheaper than £180.

:? I don't understand. House fire?
I meant simply replace the noisy fans with equivalents which make less noise.

your house wont catch on fire because your servers isnt getting cooled well. and i do agree with cornflake about getting much more silent fans. just keep the area cooled so your server gets cooled. in fact if i were you i would also keep the humidity level at 50 percent. any higher or lower and that will cause some cooling problems.

AND you might want to keep the room at at least 70 degrees Fahrenheit. that should keep it at a good temp as well.

Also larger fan can delivery the same air flow at lower rpm. If your case can fit bigger fans and is not tightly packed (lower rpm = lower air pressure), that can quiet it down too.
You can also replace the cpu cooler with better ones. Since it's a server, I assume that is where the noise from.
