I kind of dont support Autism Speaks becuse they are more focuse on the cure and they make it seem like autism does take control of us but that is not the case

I don't support Autsim Speaks because I'm perfect in every way, just the way I am, and all they want for us is a cure.

i have a account on AS,i read articles sometimes but i have not posted in a couple years.i wouldnt say i sapport them because i dont believe in all that vaccine babble.the cure stuff doesnt offend me.i view autism speaks as mediocre

I have not really been very aware of Autism Speaks but since people tell me that their sole objective is to find a cure for Aspies, then no I do not support them.

We live in a day and age when surely diversity should be well tolerated and well appreciated... people appreciate the fact that everyone is unique and different, and as such surely Asperger's should be viewed in the same light - it is a difference - celebrate it, just as most people in the world would celebrate difference and diversity in their own lives.

No, because they don't actually help autistic people. Most of their money goes towards fundraising and salaries.

Nah, I don't really care about them to be honest. Their adverts are a bit over the top and depressing but I don't let it get to me.

Imagine if there was an organization that declared black people were in need of curing. Imagine if this organization dedicated its time to showing people how miserable being a black person is, and how they need to be cured of being black.

It would quite obviously be seen as genocide on the black race.

Trying to 'cure' autism is the exact same thing, it is the genocide of autistic people.

this site needs a thumbs up or "like" button for posts like these. right on man. altho i would say persecution not genocide.

A cure for autism is not the same as killing people. Do you also think that curing depression or ADHD is the same as genocide of people with ADHD or depression?

Also, comparing a cure for autism to genocide is ridiculously offensive.

Being black doesn't affect your relationships and social interactions in the same way that having Asperger's/ADHD/depression does.

Also, capitalization and punctuation are your friends.
