Here's your chance to vote for the worst song ever.

I'm definitely not a fan of Weird Al, but I wouldn't classify anything he's ever done as outright terrible or worthy of being the "worst song ever"... That would have to go to Ian Van Dahl's Castles in the Sky. Thanks for ruining Trance, b***h.

i voted for macarena but the more i think about it, i can think of much worse songs.

anything by milli vanilli
staying alive by the bee gees
the majority of contemporary country songs would fall in this category

"Driving ret*ds to The Zoo" by The Dead Milkmen.

"The Thing That Ate Only Hippies" same people.

There are much better songs to sing, than nasty songs about Minority Groups.

Freebird.

I was in a band when that one was popular along with 'Stairway to Heaven', but I hope I never have to play 'Freebird' again as long as I live. 'Stairway to Heaven' is a close second, but at least I can still listen to it, since one of my favorite bands of all time played it.

I actually "dig" Wierd Al.

... and 'the Macarena' I think is funny, but it's because of the dance. The dance always looks to me like someone who has to GO really bad and they just discovered they're at pay toilet and they're patting every possible pocket and hiding place for some change. Some may not remember how common pay toilets were at one time.

I'm torn between Celine Dion singing "My Heart Will Go On," "I Will Always Love You" by Whiney, uh, WhiTney Houston, "Seasons in the Sun" by Terry Jacks, and "Yummy Yummy Yummy" by the 1910 Fruitgum Company. So much to hate, so little time...

(For the purpose of this thread, I have decided not to nominate "joke" bad songs like William Shatner's repertoire and Paul Anka's cover version of "Smells Like Teen Spirit".)

I had a phase of liking Weird Al, but his songs get boring. The macarena is a load of b*ll*cks! And I haven't heard a Courtney Love song. The worst song IMHO is Crazy Frog. Why the f*ck do you have to enter a ringtone in the charts? And remixed songs I over despise. And most of those lame 80s party songs like "agadoo" and modern music. R&B music and "POP" and anything past the year 2000. I have minor execptions of PROPER artists again IMO. It's all opinions. I know a lot of ands in that past sentence, soz.

I'd have to say all of the above, though I have to admit that the Mexican death Metal band Brujeria did a funny adaptation of the Macarena entitled Marijuana.

Aside from that however, I'd like people to seriously consider Captain and Tenille's 'Muskrat Love', as well as all music put out by Hall & Oates as the worst music ever committed to 2" tape.

What about Cheech Marin's version, titled "Gonorrhea"? I remember playing that at the end of a DJing shift once, pissing sounds and all, and the only complaints I got from patrons were due to the song ending after only 1 minute 30 seconds. They hadn't noticed it wasn't the original!

As for my worst song..."Taking Care Of Business" by Bachman Turner Overdrive. The painfully bad lyrics and irritating vocal delivery wouldn't be so bad if the song weren't the same three chords from start to finish.

Somehow I don't think I'm going to stop at posting just one song though...

THANK YOU! i thought i was the only person in this world tired of hearing that song. that and brown eyed girl are way overplayed. it's like you have to play either of those songs to have a cover band. uggh.

I will be a die hard Weird Al Yankovic fan until my dying days.

Although the Macarena is a good contender for the worse song ever, my vote is on Who Let the Dogs Out.

Probably some of that EuroVision crap. (Thanks, Harry Shearer.)
