Oh...and how could I forget "Flaunt It" by TV Rock.

This "song" has been a huge hit in Australia but is unknown anywhere else, it's just this kid from Melbourne trying to affect a "sleazy" rap in a not-quite-American-but-not-quite-Australian accent. For the most part he just sounds like Porky Pig with emphysema.

It would be hard for me to pick a "worst song ever", but I will say that I really detest the new song by the Killers ("When You Were Young"). I wasn't a HUGE fan of their old stuff, but it was still enjoyable to listen to. Now it seems like they're trying to be taken really seriously, and it's backfired. The lyrics are pretentious quasi-poetic bullhockey, and Brandon Flowers sounds like a friggin' goat for most of the song before going into some really ridiculous falsetto at the end. Also, he's said in an interview that the new record was going to sound "more American", and of course, on this song he's singing in a ridiculously exaggerated "American" accent with overemphasized R's and ay's and whatnot. (For the record, they ARE American.)

Some of the songs mentioned are guilty pleasures ("Macarena", "Who Let the Dogs Out", "Surfing Bird", etc). I do agree with the person who said that "Brown Eyed Girl" is horribly overplayed, though I wouldn't call it the worst song ever. And as I said in another thread, Weird Al owns.

Anything and everything that falls under the genre of rap & hip-hop.
That song that goes "heeeeeeeeeey, hey baby, ooh ahh, I wanna know................."
Who let the dogs out.
Trisha Yearwood's "How do I live without you". That song was in the Australian charts for 9 months when it was released. Also the Leanne Rymes version of the same song.

Hanson. How could I forget Hanson. Worst teeny band EVER!!
Justin Timberlake
Darren Hayes

Barry Manilow...ugh, don't even get me started on that twit. What about "All By Myself" by Eric Carmen. Talk about emotion overkill!

I dont totally dislike Barry Manilow.

But I do HATE that one song: "I write the songs".

"Hey Mickey" by Toni Basil. And it never leaves your head. The minute the cheerleaders start! "Oh Mickey, you're so fine! You're so fine, you blow my mind! Hey Mickey!" AAAH!

This is really difficult because if a song gets bad past a certain threshold people generally tend to like it's iconic status so one almost has to go mediocre-bad not to hit 'so bad it's good'.
