I thought it would be good to see what everyone's favourite LGBT films are. I always like ideas of films to watch :)

My top favourites are:
- Beautiful Thing (first watched it when I was 16 - became obsessed with everything about it for years)
- Boys Don't Cry (really sad but stunning)
- But I'm a Cheerleader

Wilby Wonderful (a Canadian indie film that has many subplots, one of which is about a man who's suicidal cause he's afraid of people's reactions to him being gay. Romance between him + another character is pretty hot/sweet/noving)

This French movie I watched about two teenage girls in France, one spending the summer at the other's beach house. No overt lesbian relationship between them but definite strong vibe.

Wilde - Oscar Wilde biopic about his relationship with Alfred "Bosie" Douglas. Starring Stephen Fry in the title role! Very beautiful, sentimental and moving.

Creatures from the Pink Lagoon - Parody of horror B-movies. 5 (or 6? can't remember) gay friends rent a vacation house on the beach and get terrorized by gay zombies. It's pretty short (about 70 or so minutes) but it's so funny and sweet!

Hedwig and the Angry Inch - This one's about a gay man-turned-transwoman who fronts a band and tries to chase down one of her ex-boyfriends because he's stealing songs from her. Funny, sad, and surreal.

To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything! Julie Newmar - Three gay drag queens (played by Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes and John Leguizamo) go on a road trip to their next beauty pageant, but their car breaks down and they wind up stuck in a small conservative town. Really funny, and the leads look so hot as women!

Sister My Sister - Two sisters involved in an incestuous relationship work as maids and get tired of the way that their employer and her daughter treat them, so they plot to kill them. Based on a true story, that of the Papin sisters.

Rocky Horror Picture Show - Needs no description.

I'll add my love for But I'm a Cheerleader to the thread.

Also Bound.

There are some others, but they're not coming to mind.

Wong foo, I haven't seen, but the plot sounds similar to an Australian film called, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, which I enjoyed well enough.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch, though, I liked a lot!

Also, Shortbus, and The Bubble, the latter of which also involves Israeli/Palestinian politics.

I've been meaning to see that movie for awhile. I hear that a lot of people aren't able to watch it in its entirety due to the sheer raunchiness of it though. But knowing me, I probably wouldn't even bat an eyelash. I'm so desensitized to that kind of stuff it isn't even funny!

But would the girl in But im not a cheerleader been a lesbian if not for her idiotic parents. Also there was a recent anime about transgender students. I forgot what it is called.
