I'm a big fan of literal music videos where the lyrics are re-dubbed with descriptions of what's going on in the video. They always cheer me up when I watch them. It's been a while since I've posted them, so I figured I'd go ahead and post my favorites again.

I found the plasma speaker video a while back. I found it rather jaw dropping.

Takes me back to good times spent at 2am in my bedroom watching cheap HK DVDs...

i have no idea what i have posted in the past, but this video springs to my mind again to post.

it is interesting to me on many levels. i will only a few because i do not want to type forever.

1. the cartoon is 77 years old, and all the contributors to its existence would most probably be dead by now. i am seeing an historic mindset in this cartoon. a mindset of times that have completely receded into the past and no living person today would have any knowledge of the process going on in the minds that produced the cartoons. even a 20 year old junior hand would be 97 now.

2. there is a sinister undertone throughout the clip (in my mind) that culminates in the last few seconds (from 5:43 onwards) that is quite creepy to look at. the "laughter" of certain objects like the typewriter and the bridge would have been frightening for me to see when i was a child i am sure.

3. there seems to be a "sexist" overlay with a "feminist" underlay. she powders her nose before attending to his pain which seems "sexist-ly" (i will coin that because i just will ) stereotypical of females (in a 1930's way), but on the other hand, she controls the proceedings and he is helpless and gets bounced around at her whim (until the nitrous sequence)

it is a crass and "unmodern" cartoon, but it is interesting to me none the less.
