Strictly on what caught my eye looking through a flag book here. I am not big on tricolours (probably because of the lack of them here in the states).

I don't like the USA state flags that are just a state seal on a dark blue background (ie, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Michigan, etc). In fact, Wisconsin had to add the state's name in big letters to it in the 1970s to make its flag more different from the others at longer range.

Of the other states, for pure design I like Maryland, California, Ohio, Illinois, Texas, Alaska (the one exception to my 'dark blue sheet' dislike), Arizona and Colorado.

For sheer *BRILLIANCE* in its design concept (and that it is a highly attractive design in its own right), I'll have to give a big honorable mention to Georgia's new state flag, perhaps even putting it at the very top of my 'like' list. If you need for me to explain why, then you would not understand.

For national flags, I'll have to give my nod to the USA's. It is a well over 200 year old design that was intended from the beginning to be adaptable to changes in the nation's makeup and is a highly attractive and balanced layout in its own right. It is also tolerant of weather wear, the parts of the physical sheets that wear off first in the wind are the ends of the stripes and a sizable amount can be gone before it will look worn.

I also like how the USA, Mexico and Canada flags look side-by-side.

Of the European flags, I like the British Union Jack the most.

For the rest of the World, I like Panama, Brasil, Israel, South Africa, Japan and Kenya.

Mike

The Israeli flag. I tried to post it, but the image wouldn't link.
Religous issues aside, Israel in and of itself is very nice. It has cities thousands of years old, modern industries, active nightlife, and gorgeous landscapes. I had a blast (no pun intended) when I traveled there, and I'm hoping to go there again.

Find one on the net and copy it to your HD, host it on ImageShack.

Quote a post with an image if you don't know the syntax and just replace the existing url of the image with the url of your image, remove the quote brackets and you're in business.

I think this would make a great Aspie flag. We may not like green eggs and ham, but we are compelled to try them along with many of the rest of the odd things that go on in the world.

I like skull and crossbone pirate flags for some reason.

Don't know if I have a particular favourite. But I do like quite a lot of flags, viz.

Canada
USA
Argentina
Scotland
Wales
UK
France
Norway
Denmark
Sweden
Finland
Estonia
Lithuania
Czech Republic
Greece
Switzerland
Algeria
Turkey
Israel
South Africa
South Korea
Japan

These, I feel, are all nice flags.

India, Niger and Ireland, all have my favorite colors (green and orange) on them.
Hardly any flags have any orange. It's basically those three and Armenia.

Canada's is nice because of the leaf.

And I must add Argentina's, being Argentinian myself. It has the colors of the sky (albeit a cloudy one).
