Moderating is thankless job. I've been one for years on places. Like Tea been on them for 10 + years

Also Alex doesn't let people apply for the job. He just thinks people who he thinks woud be good. And it's never anyone who wants the job - because those are the best moderators.

People who want to be mods never really make good ones.

I was a moderator on this site for a year and a half. Most people don't appreciate the hard work that moderators do, except for a very small few. Believe me. It's not all that, and a bag of chips.

Never ask to be one.

Sometimes it's just random. Sometimes you will get asked by the admin if you want to be one.

Sometimes friends create a forum and ask their friend if they want to moderate.

Sometimes a forum admin makes an online moderator application and has members apply for the position if they want to be one.

Sometimes an admin asks for volunteers and people go "me me me" and they pick who they want to moderate.

I'm currently a moderator for a Facebook page called "Old Cartoon Network." It's pretty simple. All I do is make status updates under the page's name and delete any spam posted to the wall.

Well, first of all, you have to be invited. In order for that to happen, you have to display good judgement and patience. Don't let things get to you or go to your head. Think about what you say before you say it. Like others say, Its a thankless job.

In my experience with the job on another site, I consider it a combination of Cop, IT manager, Janitor, and Babysitter.

Also, never ask for the job unless an admin wants you to.

Hope this helps.
