Yeah... I couldn't find the old thread with WP voices in it so I just made a new one. Here I am.

I sound like a major dork, but oh well.

Your voice sounds nothing like the tone of your posts. You seem to have a very sarcastic and assertive tone in your posts; and yet, in your video, you sound very bubbly and friendly.

My voice is very monotonous. Whenever I raise my voice, I sound sort of like a woman. Here's a link to my Youtube page, which has three videos of myself talking.

Is that a bad thing? I know my voice throws people off a lot. People still gasp in shock when I curse or say something sarcastic. lol

I didn't find it monotonous.

No, I just wasn't expecting your voice to be so high-pitched. I was sort of expecting it to be low.

Which video did you watch? I used to hear from a lot of people that my voice was quite monotonous, and now I sort of agree with them.

I was hyper when I made the video. My voice is usually somewhat lower than that.

I watched the one where you were giving a presentation about ASD.

I figured you were probably elevating your voice a little.

If you watch my other two videos, my voice will sound much higher, but that's because the camera was closer to me. I had one person tell me (from watching those videos) that I sound sort of southern when my voice is raised. Other people seem to think that I sound like a woman.

Well, people always seem to mistake me for a woman over the phone, so...

People tell me I have a really deep voice. Honestly, I would never know. When I hear myself talking I sound like I'm still a kid, but when I hear my echo I can hardly even believe it's me talking. I'll probably put up a video later, but for now, all I can say is that I sound like batman.

I had expected more of an alto voice, but I certainty did not detect any monotony ...

... and I now have a slightly different perception of you, and I would say that is all good.

Slightly different perception?

... and why did everyone expect a deeper voice? I don't get it.

I would just quote this:
Descartes wrote:

Where I might have previously guessed you to be in your 30s, I would now guess either your 20s or 50s ...

... and no, not because I think you might be an old lady! Rather, I just tend to view the 30s as "assertive", the 40s as "sarcastic", and then the 50s as typically getting/heading back closer to one's actual self.
