Hey, I'm a fourteen year old girl who likes Joan Jett, The Runaways, The Fray, a little bit of R.E.M.'s music (I like their style), Tim Burton's art, Planet of the Apes (NOT the new one), Evanescence (only a bit of their stuff), a little bit of David Gray music, some of Blue Oyster Cult (I'm mentioning a lot of music, heh?). I don't consider myself to have many special interests although I like to write and draw. Sometimes I shoot hoops and I enjoy waterskiing.

All of the artists youve mentioned sound so familiar to me yet im not quite sure who they are, what are there genres? I was never too much of a drawer but i write in my spare time every now n then. heres a poem i wrote not too long ago about being AS and how it effects us as teenagers since we do tend to be loners.

"The strongest heart stands alone, while the weak quiver and shake among a crowd, trying to cover themselves from the cruel realities of life.
An eagle soars among the heavens in a small group, and gracefully he flies, his head high, and his wingspan stretching across the four corners of the world. Below him, the crows gather, hundreds, scrounging off of what the world has tossed at them. They scrounge for dreams that have already been taken and have been dried from overuse, while the skies stay fresh in the eagle’s eye."

You say you waterski?! Oh man that would be awesome to do but i live in pa and theres nowhere to really waterski except maybe lake Erie, is it hard? because ive always wanted to try it!

Some of the music is rock, some pop (I think REM is alternative rock. Evanescence is goth rock). Waterskiing, I heard it takes a lot of upper body strength to pull yourself up (I disagree. I don't have a hard time and IMO, I don't have much upper body strength). I ski on one ski, not two, so the experience is different.

Anyone interested in Pinocchio? Also, have you heard of Fleetwood Mac?

I'm not much of a rap, hip hop, RnB or techno kinda girl, but I guess most of my opinions on this stuff is from overplayed songs on the radio. Speaking of which, what is the most overplayed song, in your opinion?

Well one song that im sick of hearing is bruno mars the lazy song, the radio station here where i live plays it constantly, and also the time by black eyed peas is played alot along with a couple other black eyed peas songs. a couple weeks ago all you heard was fireworks by katy perry. I never liked the black eyed peas because their voices n everything is done electronically and they have no real talent you know. It seems like none of the artists have any real talent and their voices are all changed to sound good.

I dislike the song Grenade to some extent. Here's a funny rant about the Bruno Mars song. I never listened to the Lazy Song.

E.T. SUCKS (by Katy Perry and that other dude)

Lyrics to the song (My commentary italicized)
[Kanye West]
I got a dirty mind
I got filthy ways
I'm tryna Bathe my ape in your Milky Way what ape?
I'm a legend, I'm irreverent
I be reverend
I be so fa-a-ar up, we don't give a f-f-f-f-ck
Welcome to the danger zone
Step into the fantasy
You are not invited to the other side of sanity
They calling me an alien
A big headed astronaut
Maybe it's because your boy Yeezy get ass a lot

[Katy Perry]
You're so hypnotizing
Could you be the devil
Could you be an angel

Your touch magnetizing
Feels like I am floating
Leaves my body glowing

They say be afraid
You're not like the others
Futuristic lover
Different DNA
They don't understand you [i]could be a good lyric[/i]

Your from a whole other world
A different dimension
You open my eyes
And I'm ready to go
Lead me into the light

Kiss me, ki-ki-kiss me
Infect me with your love and
Fill me with your poison what is this metaphor supposed to represent? sadomasochism?

Take me, ta-ta-take me
Wanna be a victim
Ready for abduction oooo... kay?

Boy, you're an alien
Your touch so foreign
It's supernatural
Extraterrestrial

Your so supersonic
Wanna feel your powers
Stun me with your lasers
Your kiss is cosmic
Every move is magic

Your from a whole other world
A different dimension
You open my eyes
And I'm ready to go
Lead me into the light

Kiss me, ki-ki-kiss me
Infect me with your love and
Fill me with your poison

Take me, ta-ta-take me
Wanna be a victim
Ready for abduction

Boy, you're an alien
Your touch so foreign
It's supernatural
Extraterrestrial

[Kanye West]
I know a bar out in Mars
Where they driving spaceships instead of cars
Cop a Prada spacesuit about the stars
Getting stupid ass straight out the jar
Pockets on Shrek, Rockets on deck WHAT DOES THIS MEAN???
Tell me what's next, alien sex
I'mma disrobe you, than I'mma probe you define probe
See I abducted you, so I tell ya what to do
I tell ya what to do, what to do, what to do

[Katy Perry]
Kiss me, ki-ki-kiss me
Infect me with your love and
Fill me with your poison

Take me, ta-ta-take me
Wanna be a victim
Ready for abduction

Boy, you're an alien
Your touch so foreign
It's supernatural
Extraterrestrial

Extraterrestrial
Extraterrestrial

Boy, you're an alien
Your touch so foreign
It's supernatural
Extraterrestrial

AWKWARD!

What era of music is your favorite? I like some seventies stuff (a little bit of David Bowie) and some 80's.

Some 80's songs:

867-5309/Jenny by Tommy Tutone
Centerfold by J Geils Band
What I like about you by the Romantics
Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield
Hungry like the wolf by Duran Duran
Mony Mony by Billy Idol
White Wedding by Billy Idol
Don't You (Forget about me) by Simple Minds
Tainted Love by Soft Cell
Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Cartes
Let's Dance by David Bowie

There are some others. I just have to find them.

80s is a cool era of music, nice choice of songs :). The thing with me is i have a few songs i like from each era, for the 60s, i like any beatles song, and behind blue eys by the who, see my problem is i dont know many songs from different eras. my mom will listen to so many songs from the 60s, 70s, and 80s but i never really asked her what she was listening to, But i always loved the songs she played. Ill have to talk to her about the music shes playing next time because now im really becoming curious on what they were. E.T by Katy perry is very akward, but ive heard way more akward from ke$ha, Like in her song take it off
"theres a place down town where the freaks all come around its a hole in the wall its a dirty free for all" What i never liked about female artists is that their music videos are more like a crappy porno and not a music vid, why do women have to do all their songs based on sex? It seems like the female artists are degrading themselves by trying to act all sexy just to gain publicity and not singing from the heart and its not the way it should be.

The song Take it off is funny in my opinion. I made a parody to that lyric you posted.

"There's a place downtown where the freaks all come around/I hate this song but apparently it turns you on/So I'll sing along to the words "Take it Off"/ (Ya like?)

They're giving the public what they want (which is sex, sex, and more sex). Well, the mainstream public. It's not limited to women. It seems like when Akon and other guys do it, whoop they're cool. But something about how women do it that degrades them (funny, Joan Jett and Cherie Currie do it and make it not horrible)
