My mum seems to have this idea that Children with autism are usually cuter than Children without autism. Is this true? If so, what do you think caus's it?

well, since she's your mum, she's obviously biased in this case, but there seems to be some value to the statement regardless.
autistic childeren (and adults, for that matter) have this air of innocence and bewilderment around them; as if they see everything for the first time and are fascinated by it.
kind of like how everyone agrees people with down are very friendly and loving, but noone being able to explain why; autism has a simular effect, but then being 'cute'

A lady at my work made some comments recently about how "innocent" I was. I'm also a "mother magnet". I've had countless nurturing-type women try to take me under their wing.

My mother used to say I looked at everything in the world around me with a marveling face as a child. I didn't understand how a lot of things were going around me, and when adults explained me I was truly impressed most of the time.

Backed by the photos I see here on WP, I agree with the above opinions, they tend to be cute.

At my first workplace I got it from someone too, I was quite thankful for it.

I was a cute kid but grew up to be an ugly adult.

Ditto! Well, I was cute until about the age of 8, and then I was ugly and am still ugly.

I dunno. I was cute until I turned about 4 years old. After that, I was just considered hideous & annoying. No one wanted to mother me, not even my own mom. Plenty of people wanted to get rid of me, permanently. It was like I turned into a cockroach or something.

I think they are the same.

NT children are cute too.

Perhaps in the same way people fall in love with the runt of the litter, until they become questioning and difficult.

The analogy ended at 'litter'.

I'm a bit ugly as an adult too. Perhaps the dissonance between the childish personality and the adult body? I don't know.

No, I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I sure was an ugly kid. No one ever said I was cute (like they did to my twin who's not autistic). It didn't get any better as I grew up either.

I concur. I'm 28 but many believe I look like a teenager.

You can't measure cuteness

I don't find any children cute

Autistic children might be socially awkward in a way that is "cute". To an observer
