You shouldn't take it so personally IMHO. My state arguably get's mocked on TV more than the rest, but no one here cares (and yes, they watch TV here).

Actually there is a brit in another thread who didn't like the UK being called rainy all the time. When it's not true it's insulting.

Ha, another person culturally seduced by America. Anyway, I'd suggest Oregon.

The Pacific Northwest seems to be a pretty nice place from all I've heard. If I had my pick I would live where I am now from May through October and in Phoenix, AZ from November through April.

I live where the "fabulous unhappy people" are. :x I have heard that we are notoriously unfriendly around these parts. Whatcha gonna do bout it?!

That is because I'm different to everyone in the world. Of course I'll have to actually go there first but the U.S looks utterly brilliant :D

+2. Another one who's American-seduced!

Yes, the cultural veneer of the U.S. looks utterly brilliant to people before they get deep into the day to day nitty-gritty of American life.

Thank you for all your answers! :)
I think I will (try to) move to Oregon, it sounds like a place that I would like.

I have another question.
I've been reading about moving to the US, and plenty of people write that it is almost impossible to move there.
But if I have a sister that lives in the US, is it easier for me to move then?
And if I have a job in Europe but live in the US?
I can work by the computer.

Thank you in advance.

/ IceKitten.

I like rain but I don't want it to rain all the time.
I like sun too but it should be cool outside.
The place should be as non-criminal as possible.

Wisconsin, Montana, Vermont and Washington state fit your requirements. They do tend to be cold in the winter months but I think its a lot better to be chilly a few months of the year than to be in burning heat/humidity for a few months in other states.

Alaska could be a great choice as well..the scenery is amazing and its sparsely populated.

If you want a big city then Seattle would be a good choice. It is rainy but its a constant drizzle rain not a storm-like rainfall.

Avoid California and Michigan since those states are bankrupt. Avoid the states on the middle (kentucky area) because its Tornado Alley.

Let me guess thewrll, you live in Florida?

And USMCnNSFdude, you live in Alabama?

You should live in Utah, it is SO pretty up there. I went up there a few weeks ago to run a marathon, and it was GORGEOUS....mountains, rivers, the color green....amazing. :)

Whatever you do...DON'T move to AZ it is summer year-round, rarely rains, and is just plain out boring...svae yourself the heartache.
