I hope that they will do a Mexican twist to Little Red Riding Hood. They could have her going to visit her grandmother's grave for Day of the Dead.. But wouldn't it be cool if they gave her an AS diagnosis and her special intrest was wolves and animals. In true Disney fashion she can talk to animals and her best friend is the wolf but the rest of the village thinks the wolf is evil.

Ariel from "The Little Mermaid" is probably the closest we'll get to an "autistic Disney Princess" theme wise. She's based on a Hans Christian Andersen story. Below the waves, she studies the gadgetry of the humans on her own. She enjoys the company of sealife. She wants to join the world of the surface dwelling humans, but to do so, she must lose her beautiful singing voice. Even so, I think she was far too chatty in the film for someone who was supposed to be selectively mute.

As for a Mexican Disney "Princess", Malina from "The Emperor's New School" is probably the closest you'll get. Though she is a hardworking peasant and not technically a princess (though she probably deserves to be). She is also meant to be from Peru even though (for some strange reason) the Cartoon shows a picture of a weather map of Mexico!

Yours is a very original idea for a story though.

The concept artwork would be very interesting.

But she and the wolf were lovers, and it was her plan that they would take grandmother's money. When the scheme had gone to pieces, she deserted the wolf and hooked up with the forester instead, putting all the blame on the wolf and getting away with it.

Sounds more like the wolf was autistic, believing Ridinghood to tell the truth, when she was setting him up for disaster.

And, while were at it, I want to see the big bad wolf get his butt kicked by a Vulcan jedi. Now that would be amazing. And then the three little pigs could be like Ewoks or something.

Agree! They should probably just make her Caucasian though. Most people I know of with Asperger's are white.

Of course. It would put far too much trauma on the poor kids brains if the main character was a minority in two different ways.

On a more serious note I have to agree that it probably would be better if she was white, for a combination of these reasons. If a Mexican girl was autistic viewers might start associating mexicans with autism as they wouldn't know much about Mexicans or Autism, and most of the Aspies I know, including myself, are white, though I know one or two black ones.

Do they make a cartoon about a girl with Asperger's? That would be awesome.

If I understand what your saying, no, they don't make a cartoon on a girl with AS as far as I can tell, but I agree that that would be awesome.

Well, there was a spinoff-show about the girl from Beavis and Butthead, but she is never stated as having AS. As far as I can tell, no. I would really like it for such a show to exist, and I'd honestly prefer if it was not connected to Disney. Does anyone know how you pitch a Tv series?

I agree. Disney really wouldn't fit my personality I guess. I mean I am kind of inappropriate. Maybe it would be better on MTV or something like that.

Oh, come on, Aspies aren't magically able to talk to anything. A special interest in wolves would allow you to more easily understand their behavior; but an individual wolf is still... y'know, an individual. Little Red would have to get to know said wolf before she went around talking to it. And then there's the problem of the wolf being a wild animal. I can read kitty body language, but I still can't run up and pet a feral cat any more than anybody else can! (For one thing, Feral Kitty would would have no idea that petting is supposed to be a friendly gesture.)

What if you had the wolf be a previously domesticated wolf gone wild? Somebody adopted a wolf pup, and then when it got too big, they dumped it, which explains why it's comfortable enough with humans to interact with them (and possibly to raid garbage heaps and such). Maybe it was the wood-cutter who adopted the wolf cub after killing its mother; maybe he's trying to hunt down that wolf because now it's making a nuisance of itself. The wolf might even have missed out on joining a pack on its own because of being raised by a human, which would make it an outcast in its own right because it can't understand wolves as well as a wolf cub raised by an actual wolf would be able to do. No wonder our little wolf specialist might be able to make friendly contact with the wolf... she's got a good deal in common with him.
