Why excuse cyber-bullying of mental disorders with people giving the old "there are a lot of people on the internet card"
that's crap, why don't people lift a damn finger and fight fire with fire already?

One could go about 'hunting down' these said Cyber-Bullies, but the Government can't be bothered to waste glorious man-hours doing this.

It would be interesting deploying "Anti-Trolls" & "Anti-Flamers/Fire Extinguishers" etc.

There is also not much being done about normal bullying. I think it is just part of human nature to mock the people who don't fit in, and to protect the bullies. For cyber-bullying it seems the same thing. What I sometimes wonder is: do the victims also bully others? Like aspies bullying other aspies for example. Not something fun to think about, but could still be true, right?

Because there is no government in charge of all websites. Each website has to police itself either with moderators or with a reporting system. Facebook, which has had a problem with bullying pages set up, has to rely on people reporting these pages so that Facebook management can take them down. Even here on WP, the moderators can't be in every thread ever made to lock it once TOS violations have happened. They have to rely on either serendipity of happening to click on it or having it reported in the subforum for technical isues.

I am curious what you mean by "fight fire with fire"? Retaliation websites (and posts) are just as much bullying and just as reportable. There is no way to tell "who started it". There can only be removal of offending content and sometimes removal (from that one website) of offending posters. But since there are literally millions of websites, removing somebody from one website doesn't keep them from popping up on another one.

Facebook and Youtube probably have the biggest problem with this. But since both of them have what must be literally millions of posts on a daily basis, ending cyber bullying can't actually happen. The only thing that can happen is vigilant reporting of offending pages and videos so they can be removed.
