What songs seem to speak to you and why?
Two songs that definitely seem to speak to me are "Crazy" by Seal (because I believe the song's chorus is true) and "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls (because I feel as though the world doesn't understand me either)

"It's a Tuesday night and I can't be
with the people that I love tonight.
They left me all alone and I can't forgive them.
I guess I'll be on my own.

I tried to see it their way.
I tried to be alone.
I tried to do my own thing,
but the trouble with your own thing is,
you end up on your own.

It's a Tuesday night and again I seem
to be on my own for the second night in a row.
The simple lesson here is to try and find a friend.
To try and find a friend..
Try and find a friend.

Can you hear me?

Can you hear me?"

The Beta Band - Simple.

I love their song which contains the line "He was a friend that I could not reach" which ends with a girl reading seemingly random numbers for about twenty seconds. I don't even know what I like about it, but the ending has an amazing atmosphere.

No one will remember this song but people my age. I Am A Rock I Am An Island had lyrics I always related to when I was young. I'm not as bitter now. It used to be my special song, as a child.

After listening to this song, I understood life.

Bob Dylan - Señor (Tales of Yankee Power)

Senor, senor, do you know where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon?
Seems like I been down this way before.
Is there any truth in that, senor?

Senor, senor, do you know where she is hidin'?
How long are we gonna be ridin'?
How long must I keep my eyes glued to the door?
Will there be any comfort there, senor?

There's a wicked wind still blowin' on that upper deck,
There's an iron cross still hanging down from around her neck.
There's a marchin' band still playin' in that vacant lot
Where she held me in her arms one time and said, "Forget me not."

Senor, senor, I can see that painted wagon,
I can smell the tail of the dragon.
Can't stand the suspense anymore.
Can you tell me who to contact here, senor?

Well, the last thing I remember before I stripped and kneeled
Was that trainload of fools bogged down in a magnetic field.
A gypsy with a broken flag and a flashing ring
Said, "Son, this ain't a dream no more, it's the real thing."

Senor, senor, you know their hearts is as hard as leather.
Well, give me a minute, let me get it together.
I just gotta pick myself up off the floor.
I'm ready when you are, senor.

Senor, senor, let's overturn these tables,
Disconnect these cables.
This place don't make sense to me no more.
Can you tell me what we're waiting for, Señor?

I think the song "Don't Tell Me" by Avril Lavigne speaks to me because it deals with someone being pressured to do something that they feel is wrong.

It reminds me of when my first girlfriend, Claudia, tried to trick me into doing things that were illegal.

When I feel a little depressed I like to listen a few times to this song by REM. I cry a little and after I feel better.

Artist: R.E.M.
Song: Everybody Hurts Lyrics (Berry/Buck/Mills/Stipe)

When the day is long and the night, the night is yours alone,
When you're sure you've had enough of this life, well hang on
Don't let yourself go, 'cause everybody cries and everybody hurts sometimes

Sometimes everything is wrong. Now it's time to sing along
When your day is night alone, (hold on, hold on)
If you feel like letting go, (hold on)
When you think you've had too much of this life, well hang on

'Cause everybody hurts. Take comfort in your friends
Everybody hurts. Don't throw your hand. Oh, no. Don't throw your hand
If you feel like you're alone, no, no, no, you are not alone

If you're on your own in this life, the days and nights are long,
When you think you've had too much of this life to hang on

Well, everybody hurts sometimes,
Everybody cries. And everybody hurts sometimes
And everybody hurts sometimes. So, hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on
Everybody hurts. You are not alone

My World by Metallica from their recent album St.Anger. Only some parts fit.

"My World"

The motherf*ckers got in my head
Trying to make me someone else instead

It's my world now

Mama, why's it rainin' in my room
Cheer up boy clouds will move on soon
Heavy fog got me lost inside
Gonna sit right back and enjoy this ride

It's my world
You can't have it
It's my world, it's my world
It's my world

I'm out of my head, out of my head
Get 'em out of my head, out of my head
Get 'em out

Who's in charge of my head today
Dancin' devils in angels way

It's my time now

Look out motherf*ckers here I come
Gonna make my head my home
The sons of b*tches tried to take my head
Tried to make me someone else instead

It's my world
You can't have it
It's my world, it's my world
It's my world

I'm out of my head, out of my head
Get 'em out of my head, out of my head
Get 'em out

Not only do I not know the answer
I don't even know what the question is

God it feels like it only rains on me

Not only do I not know the answer
I don't even know what the question is

I'm out of my head, out of my head
Get 'em out of my head, out of my head
Get 'em out

Enough's enough.

I think "Iris" by the Goog Goo Dolls suits me really well, but recently I've found a song that fits me even better. It's "Unwell" by Matchbox 20, and it describes how I'm feeling perfectly:

All day staring at the ceiling
Making friends with shadows on my wall
All night hearing voices telling me
That I should get some sleep
Because tomorrow might be good for something

Hold on
Feeling like I'm headed for a breakdown
And I don't know why

But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be...me

I'm talking to myself in public
Dodging glances on the train
And I know, I know they've all been talking about me
I can hear them whisper
And it makes me think there must be something wrong with me
Out of all the hours thinking
Somehow I've lost my mind

But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be

I've been talking in my sleep
Pretty soon they'll come to get me
Yeah, they're taking me away

But I'm not crazy, I'm just a little unwell
I know right now you can't tell
But stay awhile and maybe then you'll see
A different side of me
I'm not crazy, I'm just a little impaired
I know right now you don't care
But soon enough you're gonna think of me
And how I used to be

Yeah, how I used to be
How I used to be
Well, I'm just a little unwell
How I used to be
How I used to be
I'm just a little unwell
