If you had the chance, which famous historical figure would you prevent from being born, and why?

This isn't PPR so let's keep it relatively lighthearted. :)

I would like to remove William the Conqueror aka William II of Normandy aka William I of England aka William the Bastard.

His invasion of England in 1066 means that I unknowingly speak far too much French for my liking, and my ancestors were condemned to a lifetime of serfdom.

Serfdom is still probably better than working in a call centre and living in a studio apartment

I'd probably remove... whoever invented summer action blockbuster movies

Adolf Hitler, I don't think I've to explain why.
Then Germans could feel some sort of pride about their history and country.

Methinks that working in a call centre and living in a studio apartment is just the modern day form of serfdom. Rise up against your captors!

*cough*

Saddam Hussein. He is mostly responsible for the hate felt towards the west by Al-Qaeda, and he was a pretty lousy dictator. No Saddam, no Gulf War, no Iran-Iraq war, no Kuwait-Iraq war, no 9/11, no Afghanistan war, no Iraq war.

I remove Margaret Sanger from history. Many of you know me enough to understand why.

I'd remove Hannibal (of the Punic Wars). Without him Rome would've remained a powerful empire for at least another thousand years. It was Hannibal that delivered the blow that broke Rome's image of a military superpower...and things went downhill for Rome after that.
