Qualification + No Experience = No Job?

As a rule, NO...and that is so for most people with AS.

Employers generally DO NOT want to hire the disabled...certainly not disabled people without pre-defined needs that are likely already addressed in their company (e.g., people on crutches or wheelchairs vs. someone with AS whose symptoms and level of impairment varies from person to person).

If you are so afflicted by your symptoms that there is no way you could pass as "normal" in the hiring practice, it does more good than harm to disclose up front as it's the only way you'll likely get through the hiring portion. If you can keep it concealed and likely get by with nobody knowing, most seem to feel it is smarter to hide it. Once you're past probation, you can document and disclose with less fear. In the USA, it is illegal for the employer to ask if you have a disability beyond your ability to do the job. In fact, the question is frequently worded, "Do you have a disability that would prevent you from doing the basic requirements of the job to which you are applying even with reasonable accommodation?" Answer yes to that and they will toss you application in the trash. The law says they must only make "reasonable accommodation" for a disabled person. If the applicant still can't do the job, it is a green light to not hire them. Employers can't ask if you have a disability. I don't think they can ask if you have a disability but if you can still do the job with reasonable accommodations. As such, they can't ask, and there is no penalty for not telling. The snag is that there is no black letter rule on what constitutes "reasonable accommodation" and it can vary from employer to employer based on size and economic resources in large portion.

I have extreme Social anxiety, paranoid schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, bipolar and possibly have Aspergers Syndrome/Autistic spectrum disorder.

My conditions severely impair my ability to work with other people, inability to cope with criticism, prone to anger, have the emotional maturity of a small child.

I have deluded views on the world I find it hard to differentiate between reality and fantasy. I speak in a robotic monotone voice. I avoid eye contact. I am extremely socially isolated and a loner.

I believe if the right allowances in the work place are made: I may be able to work with limited capacity.

Nice topic! I had my first employee job 1998 to december 1999, attended to a fulltime technician school for one year of two I would have to go there to get the degree. I broke off because the school was not sticking to the plan and not heading to the goal becoming a IT-Technician.

I moved out to a differend city a long distance away, found no job for two years, got a fulltime further education school sponsored by the goverment, became a multimedia-production and management specialist after that one year of study. Did not find a job with that and had to work in the food market promotion sector, help my girlfriend for building up our own little company and started to hire some people helping us earning more money, getting more orders. But that was nothing about IT! I left in January 2005, moved back to the northern part of my country and again builded up my own one-man-show IT company. That worked well for just over a year. But having no certificates and working alone, was ver unattractive for bigger companies. So I was again without job, without projects and got money from the goverment unemployment help system. Between 2005 and 2008 I got a half year job as a half-day technical telephone supporter for a mid size company, what was very low-level compaired to my knowledge and skills. I was lucky to get a contract with a system house becoming a IT freelancer, working as first-level-supporter, but got the weekend double shifts and the night shifts. That put so much stress uppon me, I could not do it longer than 3 month. No law was protecting me against getting work-orders like a slave being a freelancer!

But 06/2008 I got a new job as a IT-Systemelectronic technician. But 50% of the tasks where about installing AutoCrib automatic tool cribs all over my country and neigbour countries. So I was partly responcible for the IT of the company and the tool crib vending mashine connections to the customers network, as well as the vending maschins themselfs, installing, supporting etc.

The economy was forcing the company to fire me, so I attended to a IT training school in fulltime for 8 month, making some MCTS Certificates. Now, I got them, mailing many applications out to companies I found seeking new skilled IT-Systemadmins and alike. But al I get are refuses. Within 3 month I mailed over 30 applications and got only refuses! I already got my cv and application letter and profil checked by a proffessional, who knows how to apply for such jobs. my documents are perfect. But my last job was not point on pure IT, so even having the knowledge about the latest stuff Windows Server 2008R2 and Exchange 2010, I get only rejections! So I am forced to apply for 2.Level PC Support jobs, PC-Screwing jobs I call them. Sneeker-Admin is a better word? That's what I did the last 6 years! I am bored by it! You can wake me up in the middle of the nite and let me assemble a new PC or Server with no problem! Changing Software, OS or whatever... boooring!
Even worse is being a IT-Pastor, doing telephone support for office problems of user whom did not learn how to use it! OMG!
