The first time I read about Geert Wilders in a magazine it was calling him a "twit". I admit that I disagree with a lot of what Geert Wilders says. He says that modorate Islam is an oxymoron. This is bullsh** because I have met many modorate Muslims in my life - some of them were my friends in high school and elementary school. I will admit that Geert is right when he says that Islam is gaining control over the Netherlands and I agree that there are a few bad apples there who rape women and murder homosexuals. I will also admit that a lot of what people say about Geert Wilders is bullsh**.

"Geert Wilders is a Racist." No you f***ing idiot. Islam is a religion, not a race. The race you are thinking of is "Arab".

"Geert Wilders is a far-right politician." No he isn't. "Far-right" means Nazism and fascism. The people who call Geert Wilders "far-right" are trying to call him a Nazi.

"Geert Wilders is commiting hate crimes." Criticising religion is not hate speech.

I don't agree with Geert Wilders but I think he should be allowed to say what he says.

While I am not Dutch, I have heard about him and seen his 15 minute film. One could certainly question whether he has ulterior motives, yet it is so thuggish to persecute the only politician who is brave enough to articulate what many Western people have worried about for years.

In my opinion, if Wilders does exaggerate at times, he is only testing the limits of the corrupt elites who run Europe.

Why anyone apart from the islamofascists would want to indict this guy, I have no idea. Apparently, Fox "news" has slandered Wilders as much as the leftists have > http://www.jihadwatch.org/2010/03/glenn ... ng-uk.html

I certainly don't agree with much of what he says, but I find it absolutely disgusting that they tried to prosecute him. Shame on those vile savages.

I'm pretty concerned about the direction most countries going regarding free expression.

I do live in The Netherlands, Wilders has charisma and wit but he doesn't have the intellect.

I am not worried about him and his party, I am more worried about his supporters and the news coverage concerning his one-liners.
He's popular with the youth for his hard talking and the oldtimers being sick of the long existing parties seemingly doing nothing.

Reviewing the quotes

"Geert Wilders is a Racist." : Nope, he just really dislikes radical Islam interpretations.

"Geert Wilders is commiting hate crimes." : He has recently being acquitted of inciting hatred and discrimination (link), in short he attacks the religion and not the religious.

"Geert Wilders is a far-right politician." : According to their own site they aren't Far-right (Dutch link), in my experience he and his party are very nationalistic up to isolationism politics with a dash of anti-Islam and xenophobia.

Like I said more verbal brawn then brains:

I do worry about a double agenda he might have and his notable close ties to Israel:

I am no fan of Wilders approach, but this is typical for these times. Nationalistic movements are getting the upper hand in Europe and fear seem to me are guiding peoples' actions fully instead of thinking this through and relativize.

If you are interested in the development upto now try looking up:
Hans Janmaat, Pim Fortuyn, Rita Verdonk, Centre Party (Netherlands), Pim Fortuyn List, Proud of the Netherlands, Party for Freedom.
