My chief friend looks at me with such judgement for this - for me my meat has to be well-done.
I just don't understand cooking it rare...no matter how much foodies may insist it's best rare, it doesn't seem appetising :?

I like mine really, really well done. Just this side of jerky. It can make a good cook cry! But that's what I like. Just wondering if this is an Aspie thing.

Did you know jerky is raw, though? Image

That's why I said thank you. I wasn't trying to be sarcastic.

I don't like the smell of steak and beef, and sometimes hold my nose when I go outside. I prefer my steaks without spices, burnt/well done, or boiled for hours. Ham is bland, and I prefer it to be cooked till it's sides are firming up. Chicken by itself is ok boiled or fried. Fish are good, but I will only accept farmed. There's no way I am going to like meat if it's bleeding. Yuck!

Alot of cooks believe that raw is easier to digest. I didn't care about that all the way through two chef semesters. I didn't think it tasted very good raw either. It smells enough as it is. One bite of raw, and I had made up my mind. No amount of spice they dump on it will cutt it for any quality beef. Burnt does taste a little like beef jerky to my experiance to.

I selected the option rare, and I meant for beef. I do like it charcoaly on the outside, though. Lamb, I like medium rare, pork medium well, and poultry well done. I like my salmon medium rare, and my vegetables, too, but those aren't meat...

Soft, and red + juicy in the middle. Here in Finland it is called medium minus. I think medium rare would be the closest option.

depends on the meat lol... I enjoy my STEAK medium rare but I don't think I'd do too well feasting on medium rare chicken.

I would rather have it burnt and get cancer from carcinogens than have it raw and get sick. Seriously.

I did not realise those two were the only options.

Ha, okay then, I mean I would rather have it over-cooked than under-cooked.

Depends on the meat itself....if I am grilling a burger, i want it well done, with a little pink in the middle. If I cook a steak I prefer char on the outside with marks and rare on the inside. I love to grill, so i have become accustomed to trying different approaches. Well done loses flavor, and you might as well throw the steak out if you overcook it.
