Might as well be, considering what I've been hearing about the economy, famine, natural disasters, political and social breakdown...

Better get my leather armor and Dogmeat ready. And I'd better call Charon, Fawkes, and The Brotherhood while I'm at it.

It's always near, considering all the close calls from cosmic forces on a daily basis. I wouldn't worry though.

The end is likely near for any one individual more than a catastrophic end to everything. Live as though it were your last days -- at least that is what I try to do.

Chances are nothing is going to happen to this big rock until the sun engulfs it when it becomes a red giant in 5,000,000,000 or so years.

Things are not looking great at this moment but progress always encounters bumps in the road.

devastation happened all the time. You're just not paying attention. Famine, floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, wildfires, drought...

any of these happen in recent months?

Probably. Technology will be an aid in killing most of the planets population when the time is right I imagine. Scientists managing to take control of weather perhaps to cause disasters of biblical proportions. Maybe. :chin:

IIRR it's not certain that Earth gets swallowed (something to do with the sun losing mass and the planet ending up in a sufficiently higher orbit that it doesn't get caught) but being burned to a crisp is a cert.
