most of all, with the news out that The Rump routinely stiffs his contractors, how could any working class person support him knowing that they too, if they did a job for him, could get stiffed also?

That, and the orangutan Mussolini, for all his talk about bringing industrial jobs back to America, had been one of the very rats responsible for sending said jobs overseas in the first place.

Seriously. I have trouble just thinking about why anyone would want to be a conservative, but AS people should know what it's like to not be part of the majority and to need healthcare, etc. Why would they belong to a group that is so focused on building a world of just rich, white, heterosexual men with nothing different about them and no illnesses?

I don't use the socialized health care system we have in Ontario, other than to get a few pills every 2 months - ten 2mg clonazepam tablets - the most they'll give me. I will not ever call 911 if I am the victim of a crime.

Healthcare is sickcare. At least here.

Conservatives aren't just only white heterosexual men, with no problems.

They cross every creed, colour, and ability, my friend.

I know people my age who are being treated for cancer who if they lived somewhere that didn't have socialised medicine would lose their homes and everything they have to pay for the treatment (she used to work full time but it's hard to work and raise two kids when you're going through chemo.) You never know when you might come to rely on that safety net that you currently take for granted. I hope you never find out personally how lucky you are to have provincial health insurance by becoming seriously and chronically ill.

I sincerely believe the reason why conservatives are so dead set against any sort of universal healthcare is because they think poor people who don't pay taxes are pulling one over on the taxpayers. The fact that they could care less that people could lose everything, or just die, shows how much they've dehumanized the poor.

If you'd bothered to actually go to any conservative political websites, or, God forbid, talk to actual conservatives, you'd find that they tend to emphasize a fear that generous social welfare programs create dependency on the state and that said programs are poorly run and inefficient. Sure, some people think the poor are getting a free ride, but to paint conservatives as a whole as thinking that and not caring about the poor is both uncharitable and untrue, not that either seem to matter to you.

How can any Christian be liberal?

That is offensive isn't it?

Its offensive because its a generalization which is exactly what this thread is.

How can anyone with AS be a homosexual?

See the problem with this line of thinking?

In what kind of society would it be okay to open a thread like this?

Who decides who we can offend in the end?

Christians?
Muslims?
Homosexuals?
Conservatives?
Liberals?

If I opened a thread and asked how can anyone with AS be a homosexual, it would not be allowed to stand, why is this bull s**t able to?

The title of this thread and the thinking behind it is offensive to both conservatives and democrats if you ask me, along with Autistics.

People should support a political view based on its merit, not because of who they are or who they identify as.
Not doing so only perpetuates the ignorance and intolerance both sides aim to stamp out.

Then what the hell is the conservative alternative? So far I haven't seen any, other than for the poor to get hired in jobs that no one will hire them for, or that pay so little that healthcare is beyond their reach.
So what if programs as such create dependency. At least people won't die. Then again, I have heard conservatives speaking on the subject, and they're more than happy to let the poor go the way of the dinosaurs in the right's social Darwinian scheme. So much for the right being so pro-life.

It doesn't matter in this context, the conservative plan is not what is being discussed, their motivations and beliefs are.

Their motivations and beliefs mean nothing without intended action behind them. Otherwise, it's just a cop out.
It's like the congressional Republicans plotting and scheming to replace Obamacare, but offering zilch as an alternative. One has to ask, why? Again, I think the why is all about keeping things away from those deemed undeserving, even if those things are necessities for life. All that talk about stopping dependency on so called failed policies and programs is just a smokescreen to hide their hardheartedness.
Go ahead, call me evil and vile for saying bad things about your fellow liberal haters. At least everything I say I believe.

If I did, I suspect they'd go crying to the moderators that I've been slandering and defaming them.

You're not evil Bill, and I've never called you that, you're just incredibly certain about things you know nothing about, which is something else entirely.

If you debate your side like an adult, then no one should have to tattle on you. You act like a 2 yr old, then you'll get treated like a 2 yr old. And stop bringing up Raptor because he isn't here to defend himself.

The thing is, I am certain about those things. I haven't just formed opinions about conservatives without having talked to them. In fact, I've known conservatives for years - in fact mostly in my church - and while I remain friendly with them, I have no illusions about what they believe about those without.
