Do you find yourself more rooted in your own fantasy world, or do you find yourself in the real world more?
I'd much rather disappear into my own fantasy world than deal with the real one. Its likely not normal that I'm 17 and I still like to shut my eyes and imagine myself somewhere else, but who cares lol.

I definitely live more in my imaginary world than in the real world. And why wouldn't I want to? In my fantasy world, I'm best friends with all of my favorite celebrities and fictional characters, I have a (non-identical) twin sister who is always there for me, and I have magical powers. Plus, certain rules of reality don't apply in my imaginary world, such as the rule that only straight couples can have biological children.

Compare that to the real world, where I have no friends outside of the Internet, my sisters don't really care about me, I'm very weak both emotionally and physically, and of course the rules of Biology 101 are still in full effect.

I am firmly rooted in the real world.

I'm in my 30s and still prefer my fantasy world. I'm sure that's not normal either.
But yeah, who cares? It doesn't interfere with my real life in any way.

Well into the real world, but not proud of the fact.

I still disappear into my own fantasy world. It beats the real one for sure. :)

Everyone lives in their own fantasy world.. I've recently more actively avoided letting others' fantasies intrude on mine.. 'news' programs/papers/etc, pop culture events, etc.. it's all basically the same anyway.

The nice thing about a fantasy world is it's your fantasy, so it's anything you want. If it seems to be getting stale, you can always throw in some sentient-seeming actors.. and throw them out whenever it seems prudent

I am a dreamer. I keep myself rooted in the real world through practical means, but daydream I must.

This has always been what I have done with my fantasy world. I refer to the "sentient-seeming actors" as my imaginary friends. They're there for me when I need them, but when I start to feel like my adventures with them have gotten stale, I bid them farewell and usher in a new group of imaginary friends. Even though I make them sound like they're expendable, in actuality I become very emotionally attached to them during the time I spend with them, and it's surprisingly difficult to let go sometimes.

Fantasy world. Can't stand the real one. So uneventful and dull.
But my favorite is dream world. Lucid dreams rock socks, nice combination of the two.

Both. I'd go crazy without either one.

I've always lived in a fantasy world more than the real world because the real world overwhelmed me but now that I've grown some & learned to better deal & things in the real world are looking up for me; I find myself less drawn to fantasy & my daydreams are more about potential future stuff that might could actually happen in my future in the real world
