I've been asked where in Ireland I'm from, but I've never been there.

My group of friends at university was almost all Irish...I've probably just picked up some accent from them.

Sometimes australian, but mostly I have a nasty habit of copying other peoples accents and they can sometimes think I'm mocking them, even though it's totally involuntary on my part. :?

yeah, i sometimes get asked 'where are you from' in that way when i'm in my own hometown. people think i'm eastern european. maybe because of my coloruing and the fact that the majority of people there are immigrants anyway. i once worked with a lithuanian woman who thought i was from her country and started asking me questions about it
