So what do you use now Cornflake?
Pascal... I practically think in Pascal.
Mostly under Linux. This one: http://www.freepascal.org/ It's a superb implementation which is also available gift-wrapped: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazarus_%28IDE%29
When it's not Linux it's a MikroElektronika Pascal for the PIC microcontroller (although I really ought to use assembler: those chips are neat!).
Before all this it was 6800 for a while, then Z80: almost all assembler. Pascal started appearing for me just before the Z80 and I'd end up with either assembler or assembler with Pascal wrappings for the bits I couldn't be bothered to do in assembler.
The "other things" didn't involve very much programming outside bash for quite a time (but I used any excuse to slip some Pascal in!): networking, mail, systems development & administration etc. and now that's all finished job-wise, these days I keep my hand in just for the fun/interest value.
