This is how big the trees are where I live.



How big are they where you live?

Uh, not quite that big! That's rather amazing!

The trees are a little smaller where I live, but they're still big enough to hug, and that's good enough for me.

That's also a very amazing picture.

The tree huggers in your area must have extremely long arms!

I can't remember the last time I even noticed the size of a tree, so they can't be all that big.

Fantastic. I've always wanted to hike in that area.

Maybe 1/4 the size of that one. 100+ year old live oaks. Unless you count cypress trees, those can get really big around at the base but then they taper down a lot.

That's so beautiful!! where i live we don't really have any big trees, big trees have this kinda magic over them.. i often meditate to them.

I've always had an attraction to trees of any sort, really - but the really old gnarled ones are something special and it's just nice to be near them.
There are only a few big trees near me - wide-spreading cedars and a couple of redwoods (probably miniatures, compared to how big they can get) - but dense and mossy deciduous woods are magical, ethereal places and more than make up for the relatively small sizes.

Bloody Hell... Can you imagine a swing or a tree house in that massive tree? It's amazing!

This is actually five photos merged together vertically. It's in the great redwood forests of Northern California. I went there in the fall of 2009.

The state of Washington also has some big douglas fir and sitka spruce trees in the old growth rainforest zones. They don't grow quite as tall as the California redwoods, but they often have gigantic moss covered roots which are very primeval looking.
