Ok, be kind... (I am a numpty)

So, I have a pay as you go mobile. But I've not used it for ages, and TMobile have done something to stop it from working.

I was going to get a new phone, but then I wondered if I could just buy a new sim card instead? Either TMobile or Orange.
Would this work, or would my phone still be as useful as a chocolate fusion reactor?

Thankyou kindly.

Depends if the phone is locked to the network. It probably is though, most are.
So you could put a new t-mobile sim card in it, but not one with a different network.
