I made a poll (http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp4053083.html#4053083) which dictatorship is scarriest and there was a confusion regarding the meaning of the items I put in the poll. So I am making another poll where each item is spelled out more concretely and therefore there is less confusion. Otherwise the items are the same.

You will notice at this juncture (08:50 DST 30 September) the choices are associated with religions or quasi religious ideologies. The Commies made a god out of the proletariat and the class struggle. The Nazis made a god out of Folk and Race. And the Jihadis have their Demon God Allah.

It's funny, our Evango-Fascists make a point of being anti-Globalist.

Any kind of theocracy would be a hellhole in my book.

Spanish Inquisition, if there is such a thing as a Hell I think there's a special place in it reserved for people who demonize cultures they are too ignorant to understand and then work to destroy all traces of the people in that culture just so that their own can take over.

Allah is not a demon at all. Read the Koran. It's the same exact monotheistic god worshipped by Jews and Christians.

I didn't vote in the previous poll, but in this one I choose the Spanish. Their effects are more pervasive and lasting than any other's.

I also chose the Spanish Empire: Bishop Diego de Landa was far worse than Joseph Goebbels and I rank Francisco Pizarro, along with Genghis Khan, Josef Stalin and Leopold II of Belgium as one of the four most evil people in human history.

By the way, is your avatar the Maya goddess Ixtab?

I went with Nazi Germany, though it was a close race with the Soviet Union. In both cases, you had fanatical worship of a megalomaniacal leader who murdered incomprehensibly huge numbers of people. But while the Soviet system was able to reform itself after Stalin's death, there's no telling if such a thing would have been possible with the Nazis, even if they had survived intact after Hitler's death.

Nazism could not survive the crisis of succession.
Fascism being the political philosophy of not thinking things through
never survives the death of the nebish who founded it.
it is all smoke and mirrors.
