Yes, but the memory of the lyrics is directly tied to the melody, for me. If I am having trouble remembering the words, all I have to do is sing them and they come back. I might not be able to recite them, but I can sing them.

I tend to memorize the chorus to a song after a few listens, and can sing along in perfect time after one. I too have memorized many Beatles lyrics and even who sings what, as I love classic rock.
I can't stand remixes of slower songs because the time signature (tempo) is just plain wrong. I also can't stand even slightly out of tune singing.
