My thought: "Well, what the heck makes you think I give a crap about this? I don't care what so and so says."

Summary of hidden meanings:

"Justin is making fun of me!" translates to "Justin likes me!"

"He's making fun of you? Oh, you poooooor baby. Wah, Wah" translates to "Shut up!"

Was this an aspergian thought?

Actually, what you thought of saying, in NT, translates to "I like you and I'm jealous of Justin, and a bit of a dickhead" lol.......

I guess I don't speak NT that well, lol. (In this context, NeuroTalk)

Btw, when I was thinking about it, I was thinking about it in a harsh tone, so it wasn't a simple I'm-making-fun-of-you sentence.

I don't like her, but you're probably correct about the jealousy part, lol. I don't personally know if he's a dickhead, but I guess he has potential (He was pretty amused by watching the rat getting dissected by the teacher one day, while nearly all the females were disgusted or sad. Everybody else was pretty inexpressive.).

If she were your friend, you would've done it. She obviously isn't, so those thoughts are... atypical at best. Acting on them would be really, really awkward.

Maybe my subconscious thinks everyone is a "friend", lol.

But, I'm guessing it's probably because I don't make as strong a distinction of "friend" and "foe" as most people do. Coincidentally, I've been kind of wondering what exactly a friend is because I don't seem to "intuitively" understand it that well. (I know what a "best friend" is... hmmm... I wonder if my impression of "best friend" is everybody else's "friend"?)

Funny. I just noticed, at this exact moment, someone was asking what a friend was in a thread below mine. Man, maybe I DO have aspergers.

Wish I could explain it, mate. A friend is someone you've talked to at least once, joked with, hung out with, etc. Someone you can be weird around (purposely or naturally) and they'll laugh along or understand. I have three categories; stranger, friend and good friend. Most people I know fall into the second category, understandably.

That's my definition of "best friend". 8O I can't really "be weird" around most people because "my weird" is a bit too weird, not that my "normal" is "normal" or anything, but somewhere within "Barely acceptably weird", lol.

Anyway, I was thinking about this "friend" and "not friend" division, and I was thinking... maybe I was pretending to be person she was talking to ("her friend") and the division between "self" and "her" was not entirely clear and so "I" felt like saying it? I.e., the division between "self" and "others" seems blurred according to that article that claims a diminished sense of self in autism, which is the primary basis for pronoun reversals (Because the line between "you" and "others" is mentally blurred.).

This explanation almost seems too consistent (Confusion of self with others) for this particular situation and pronoun reversals that it just HAS to be right! A confusion of self with others or, rather, a more blurred line mentally separating ones self with others, is a primary social deficit in autism, leading to pronoun reversals and odd/awkward "situational responses" in social situations.

Well, the term "friend" is poorly defined as its meaning truly depends on the context. Relationships lie on a continuum for most people. The issue has been further confused by the emergence of the term "friend" by Facebook. Before Facebook these people would have been called "contacts" or "acquaintances". There could also be romantic attraction between two persons and this could also be considered a friendship in some contexts.
