I think I remember when I got diagnosed at age ten or so. It happened soon after my first epilleptic fit, after a nurse talked to my mum about my odd walking posture at the time. Until about two months ago I hadn't related what happened there to me having AS. Or maybe it for my epillepsy. In any case, I had to get these weirdo suction cup thingies with wires coming out of them, similar to the suction cups used to keep plushies stuck onto windows. I was relaxed, as I knew that it'd all be okay.
I've no idea what this process will be, but I'm just putting in what I've experienced so that, if you do need suction-cups-with-wires-coming-out-of-them-that-are-attached-to-the-computer to perform the diagnosis, at least you know now that it'll be just fine.

I was sad when I found that she left
But then I found
That I could speak to her,
In a way
And sadness turned to comfort
We all go there
