My that aide was horrible, but it's still a shame the teacher is still there. This stuff is just awful. Do we know exactly what Cheyanne has?

These teachers should not be allowed to teach ever again.

I was about to defend the school, but then I remembered that it kept accusing her of lying when I know she is obviously telling the truth, and that they kept the teacher. Sue that school to hell!

I just want to wipe the smile off those teachers' faces. F**king b****es. Someone should put them in their place.

I know how you feel.
School was hell for me too!
Some teachers feel the need to abuse power. It makes them feel good about themselves.
his or her lover is probably cheating on them.

And they say Autistic people have no feelings for others? I have feelings for this poor girl - I could cry for her. I hope that teachers gets prosecuted, and I hope the 14-year-old student gets what she deserves - lots of extra help and support in school and made to feel comfortable and happy in a special needs friendly environment.

I HATE bullying.

The article seems a bit one-sided. Certainly the teacher's outbursts were personal attacks and are inexcusable, but we don't know anything about the student's behaviour and what she might have done to warrant such abuse.

It's quite possible that the girl was a particularly difficult student and the things the teacher said were said in the heat of the moment. I certainly remember moments from my schooling where I was troublesome and teachers lost the plot because they didn't know what to do with me.

“We weren’t getting anywhere,’’ Brian said. “Every time we called, it was always, ‘Cheyanne’s lying, Cheyanne’s making up stories. She’s taking parts of this story, parts of that story, and making her own story.’ ’’

How very sad. Unfortunately, I gather that the above kind of tactic (trying to discredit the victim's claims, often on the basis of their disability) is fairly common when there arises situations where allegations of wrong-doing are made by people with mental and neurological disorders. Not just children, either.

What exactly makes this different to any of the other millions of bullying stories?

The teachers did it, and they got caught.
