It first started in the Army. Just before our morning formation at O dark thirty it was pretty much the only thing on TV. I'm not really sure why they started calling me Gadget. Probably because I had a wealth of useless information and learned really fast. ?
Then 4 years after getting out it re-emerged where I worked,
It then became a funny metaphor, "We'll ask Gadget...He'll know"
If someone needed tooling or a fixture. Had a problem with figuring something out, or to know how or what we could use for tooling. "Hey Gadge, We need a gadget to...".
It got to the point that I was doing alot of design/re-design and engineering work,
Now its pretty much my friends that call me Gadge. I do alot of projects for them. My one friend is a technologies teacher and I'll make items for his classroom instruction. I also re-plumbed his entire house,
It comes in handy being a fitter, fabricator, welder, plumber, machinist, electrician, carpenter, aircraft motorcycle and race car mechanic, engineer, designer, artist, photographer, painter and cook,
I've never had any other nickname !
