I've spoken about this in the past and someone was relieved to not be the only one coffee has that effect on :P
Without coffee, my auditory sensitivities kill me. I need 2 coffees at LEAST to be able to hear my children laughing without feeling my whole brain is cringing (physically shrinking into a hard little ball lol)
I can drink coffee before going to bed and sleep like a baby. I have no idea if it's an addiction, but I discovered that I started this with cola, as a young teen, before I developped a taste for coffee, I'd drink half a bottle of cola before being able to face the high school schoolyard.
It eases down the sensory things. It does relax me, a lot.

I wouldn't say it relaxes me but I've never understood how some people say that things like caffeine and sugar make them hyper. I've seen people online describe effects from drinking a mountain dew that I wouldn't get unless I smoked crack.

Caffeine worsens my Tourettes symptoms but definitely makes me feel a lot calmer. Unfortunately though I do seem to occasionally have a 'coming down' effect with it, but most times not. I can also drink Lucozade without many issues. I have never tried the 'killer' energy drinks because there is something in them that could counter effect my medication!

I'm addicted to it and need it in the morning, and also, if I get mad or depressed or whatever, I'll end up drinking like a high amount of coffee or energy drinks, one time I had like 4 pots (4 cup pots) of coffee in an afternoon.

No coffee tends to make me more energetic....though I know caffine does have a tendency to make some people tired.

Speaking as someone not diagnosed, coffee makes me completely hyper. I seldom drink it. One cup of bean to cup coffee makes me a nervous wreck, but I can handle a mug of instant. I have 3 cups of tea per day, the last one no later than 6pm, otherwise I'll be up all night. I think I'd possibly get an ADHD diagnosis tho' (ADD these days), which might be relevant.

My husband has AS traits, not diagnosed, but members of his family are quite obvious. He can have a coffee at bedtime and says it doesn't affect his sleep at all - but, his legs jump throughout the night. I think he's addicted. He gets defensive when I suggest he should cut down. But, he's definitely not affected like me.

Relaxes me. In reasonable doses but too much on an empty stomach makes me sick.

in my experience, coffee, or cafaine in general, indeed sort of relaxes me; i am able to ignore more of my sensory issues and my focus increases significantly, giving me the outside appearance of the general effect of coffee, but trough a different medium.
as said before, i can indeed also drink coffee just before going to bed without it affecting my sleep in any way.

I have friends who drink it at night so they will stay awake. If I drink it at night it makes me sleepy.
