I didn't watch it (yet) but the mention of intestinal florae reminds me of a book I read by a mother of a seemingly autistic child who's husband was a chemist. They discovered through research that the child had an intolerance to gluten and dairy, the ingestion of which triggered some autistic like traits. It was like a series of dominoes set up, each describing a set of conditions that resulted in opiates in the brain. I wish I could do it justice but I can't remember the name of the book. I will say that leaky gut syndrome is one of the dominoes and an over use of antibiotics (I think) is another. I think intestinal florae had something to do with it too. If all of these are dominoes, the finger that pushes the first domino over is the MMR.

The point being that the child was not autistic but had a different, but controllable condition.

I'll try to find the book and post it. It was an interesting read.
