I absolutely cannot stand electronic music. Any kind of dance music, rap, techno, pop-rock, etc. that is made or heavily influenced by computers sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. This can sometimes be difficult in social situations as whenever it is playing I automatically insult it and ask for it to be changed. I don't want to appreciate it, that is not the problem, I was just wondering if anyone else hears the same awful noise that I do when I listen to it.

Nope, 90% of my music is electronically influenced in some way. I love electronic music and listen to girly eurodance and eurobeat and stuff like the majority of the time. I find that properly produced electronic music is pretty much the best stuff ever. The good thing about electronic music to me is that you can include any sound you want into anything, so the possibilities are endless. But sorta the thing with electronic music is, it's like, with great power comes great responsibility. But nope, I think electronic music is pretty much the best thing since electricity (I was gonna use sliced bread, but that's a dumb metaphor as sliced bread actually made bread production worse, ie, with Wonder Bread, compared to a bakery where you get a literal loaf of real bread.)

As far as social situations, the only thing that makes me mad is music about promiscuity, which seems to be ever more present nowadays.

I absolutely do not hate electronic music. I'm quite fond of it, actually.

If you're talking about the sh***y electronic music they play on the radio these days I agree, but not all electronic music sounds bad. Here are some songs I recommend listening to:

It depends. I'm not that excited about highly repetitive Trance/Club music.

I do like Electronic enhanced music like Daft Punk or Ladytron though.

I'm with you, most electronic music annoys me a bit. I certainly don't instantly insult it though...we all have our musical tastes and I'm sure mine sound pretty terrible to some people as well lol. I'm not going to say I hate it all 100%, because I have heard a few songs I enjoyed that did utilize alot of electronic effects, but they are few and far between. A funny and somewhat related story, but a while ago I was watching Saturday Night Live. A band, I think it was Linkin Park, was performing a really electronic-sounding song, and one of the band members was actually "playing" a laptop! (he was really getting into it too haha). I still get a kick out of that to this day.

I'm sorry you feel that way about electronic music.

Most of it works wonders for me.

I really dont care for it but I try to stay open to all music.
If I here a song that I like the genre does not matter to me at all.
Most of the electronic music that I have heard was horrible.

Nope. I really like music with heavy guitars and/or aggressive synths.

Hmm, I wonder what that is. I feel for ya though, aspecially with - as you put it - the way you can't go to a mall restaurant, club, mall, or much of anywhere without hearing pop dance or hip hop (which they're really trancing out their beats these days).

Is it a physical thing where the frequencies hit you like that or is it just something you strongly don't relate to?

I like it when it's more tranquil. I like relaxing to music, and electronic done right can be good for me (and it soothes my ears).
