Try "Blood or Whiskey" and "Neck."

(I'll not go too far with my thoughts on 'celtic punk' as a specific subgenre.)

You might like this. You have to go a couple of minutes in to hear the tune.

I found this band...

Nautical folk themed fiddle-punk band from Vancouver Canada.

I'm more into Celtic Rock, such as Enter the Haggis and Gaelic Storm

I wish I could find a link to "The Steggie" (as performed by the New St. George) here, as it's a work of surpassing genius. ^^

Celtic punk is one of my favorite types of music! Here are three lesser know celtic punk bands.

What about the Pogues? they were the first celtic punk band, without Shane MacGowan and the Pogues there wouldn't be any Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, Neck, Tossers, Bible Code Sundays, Real McKenzies, Street Dogs, The Killigans etc.

and without The Dubliners, Clancy Brothers and Sex Pistols, there wouldn't be any Pogues

I actually thought about the pogues before my last post. :D The pogues do deserve credit and sound better than all of these bands.
I wanted to recommend bands that people may not have heard. Everyone familiar with the genre should know the Pogues.

Without traditional Irish folk music we would not have the dubliners or Clancy brother. Without the ramones and the new york punk scene we would not have the sex pistols.
that could go on until the invention of music.

Here is Shane MacGowan other band "the popes". This is one of Shane's more controversial songs. It demonstrate both bigotry and brilliant song writing.

Nah, they were a London band. Wrong side of the Atlantic to be proper Celtic Punk. And they were quite original in their approach, so doubly disqualified...

Here's an odd bunch (in French and by Bretons, but it's more or less 'the same old theme'):

The Pogues were actually credited as the founders of the Celtic punk genre in the 1980s.

The pogues were a London band with a very Irish singer. The band's song are very Irish and many deal with political events in Irish history.
The Scottish are also considered Celtic and they are located on the same side of the Atlantic as the English.

Nearly every one of these Celtic punk bands sound disturbingly similar. 8) if they created anything original they would probably get grouped into another sub genre or invent one.

This may not count as "punk", but it is Celtic. I like Tri Yann

Hehe. If the Pogues had been from Glasgow or Dublin then I'd think them slightly more celtic. If they'd been from LA or Chicago, I'd think them quite a bit less.

*clears throat* I shall now sing "Star of the County Down" to the tune of "The Unquiet Grave", to illustrate the true nature of folk music.
