i think for me it is the "burger dance" from dj ötzi - terrible, terrible stuff. it hurts to listen to it and i feel ashamed by it's existance.
(mixing german and english lyrics makes it even worse.)

There is one song in particular called "My Humps" Again I am not even providing a link. Terrible song!! So demeaning to any woman's intelligence and obscenely sexist for that reason.

it's demeaning to my ears

That too, and demeaning to my eyes on video.

Any of Cliff Richards xmas songs will be up there for my worst song, along with any X factor songs or Westlife/Boyzone.

That "So you had a bad day" song... Ugh...

If you're actually having a bad day Daniel Powter is insulting you with this annoying sappy little melody... It's pure evil. Playing it is a good way to make someone want to go postal. Especially if it comes on the radio the day you found out you've been laid off.

Oh yes, that song is awful.

Pretty much anything used on an advert is.

My dad reckons that adverts deliberately use annoying material, because things that annoy us stick in our minds. Hence the earworm...

Ironic. I know it's a cliched song to hate, but I. Just. Can't. Stand. It.

And that 9000000 bicycles in Beijing song, by that Melua woman. Like she's counted them all or something. gah

Basically songs that claim to know unknowable things 'for a fact' or misunderstand the English language completely.
But I'm not anal or horrendously rigid or anything. Nope.

I'll cast my usual vote for MacArthur Park.

Yes Cliff Richard's "Millennium Prayer" (which understandably his usual label EMI refused to associate their name with it) still tops my list and believe it or not it is even worse than the Black Eyed Peas "My Humps" which is saying a lot. But any of his songs conveying some Christian message would also be up there –perhaps on a par with My Humps.

Not true. Try listening to the full song. Most of them are actually great songs. Ads just take 5 second pieces of the songs and loop them over and over so it becomes annoying.

Oh. Ooh. Now that is brutal. I lasted 45 seconds. Everyone involved in producing that record should be shipped to Mars immediately.
