For some reason, I've always wanted facial hair, like a beard or mustache or sideburns. Just trying to write a really random thing.

My teenage brother wants facial hair too. He keeps saying he wants to grow an "epic beard" or a "cop mustache".

I'm working on an epic mustache; it's sort of a Dr Watson style handlebar at the moment, but if I wax the tips I can make it go full on V for Vendetta style I wear it with a pointed goatee that ties into a thin chinstrap, the whole thing sounds odd but it looks good on me and fits my personality.

It's cool for a while.
I had a mustache when I was 19.
I had a beard when I was 23, but then the itching drove me crazy!
So, I shaved it off

Now, at 41, I wish I didn't have facial hair. Facial hair requires maintenance. You either have to keep shaving it off, or keeping a beard neat & trimmed (or look homeless).
And if you make a mistake shaving, it's there for the whole world to see.

I didn't shave for the 1st year I was out of high-school because I thought it was kewl & I hated shaving but I started shaving because it was very itchy & got dirty. I hate having to shave my hair but there isn't a better alternative

I hate having facial hair! I think my skin is so sensitive that every time I shave I end up bleeding and being red and rashed on my face and neck for 1-2 days.

I have been clean shaven lately though usually I'm rocking that five o'clock shadow look

Yeah, it seems like there is no way to win with facial hair.
I get rashy & bloody too, not quite fro as long, but it's tough to get a truly good shave. I've found that my razors don't do that so much on the 2nd use. brand new fresh razors are too sharp and they cut me up.

But of course, if I don't shave, my face will itch like crazy after about 4 days.

I settle for shaving every other day or every 3rd day. I'd rather have a little scruff going on than having a torn up face.

I usually shave on a Sunday and then let stubble grow throughout the week when I’m at work; by the end of the week I have a pretty noticeable semi-beard. I do this because I find that I get a better shave if I shave infrequently. When off work I let my beard grow even more and can sport a pretty nice beard with flecks of brown, orange and gray. Currently being Christmas, my beard is like this.
I must say however there does come a point at which I have to shave, as after my beard reaches a certain length it does start to become very itchy.
