Biology geeks?

There's the stereotype of aspies being math/science-y people, but it's always seems to be computer science and the like. Anyone else interested in biology?

I am interested in human biology. I like learning about pathophysiology in particular.

Medical junkie here. It's my junkiness that led me to my discovery of Asperger's, then to a diagnosis.
I am prepping for the IBO, and aspire to win home the gold medal one day!

I'm a biology graduate. I only did 3 years and left prior to the honours year, due to social anxiety. So, of course, I've never worked in the field, but I'm still really into it. I studied microbiology as far as 3rd year, but my interest is more in human biology (genetics/epigenetics, health, nutrition, migration, evolution, etc). I prefer theory to practical biology.

Incidentally, having lost the chance to work as a biologist, I became an admin assistant. But, I made a niche for myself in database design and was the office IT geek.

I a huge bio geek. I want to study genetics and college and be a geneticist when I'm older(many years of grad school later). I hope to get into a research program in genetics through one of my state's universities this summer. I miss studying genetics in school. I had a month or so long genetics unit in AP biology last year.

I enjoy reading about evolution and phylogenetics, but biology is not one of my main interests.

biology is harder than physics or mathematics. Why? Because biological processes are so complicated that one cannot reduce them completely to a mathematical scheme or a system of rules.

Mathematical regularity and structure appeals to many Aspies, but Nature simply does not cooperate by being systematic and rule-based. Biologists need a lot more intuition than do theoretical physicists.

What specialization will you choose? I found biomedical engineering the most stimulating focus.

I've only read like 1/4 of a biology book and microbio book.

I like how both chemistry and biology have mass but mathematics does not. Mathematics is a prelude to mass. If I had the memory good enough for biology I would major in it. That or bioengineering.
