Please excuse me if this has been over - discussed.

Do you find Facebook hard work? I do - its not just that lack of privacy, I just feel as if I'm going to have to delete the thing and give up. I thought I could cope with being light-hearted and not take the thing so seriously ...and ....that it wouldn't end up with me feeling so ll at ease.

Instead, it looks as if my communication skills are not suited to it at all....

What do you think? Have you had the same problems?

I don't find it a challenge to use. Often I have to tell my parents how to use it and they still don't get it. :P

As for stuff like privacy and social skills, well, I don't put anything on there that I wouldn't feel safe with just anybody knowing, and I don't try to make any new friends; just use it to keep contact with friends I already have.

I was on FB for a little while and left because I had similar reservations to the ones you've stated. Plus I was bored.

In high school I used some local facebook-ish thing and I never got used to it. It's exhausting for me. That's why I never signed up on facebook.

I just don't want to talk to people who I don't know well. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I'm from before the internet, and I worry about something I say being googled by a prospective employer or something. I'm simply not a social person, so I deleted my FB account.

Exactly

it can be exhausting.

I think that more than anything. I can work out how to use it etc...
but its the emotional side of it..that's a challenge.

Good to know I'm not alone on this one

It's a challenge: people! Communication! Social interest in other people!

I don't know what to say on places like facebook. I simply have nothing to say because of the autism.

I resort to just posting silly and stupid stuff I know people will laugh at. I never do anything serious. :P

Sounds like a good plan to post only silly stuff you know they'd like.

I think someone posted earlier they don't want to talk with people they don't know on FB...

That makes sense to me - I think this is what I'm going to stick to on FB from now on..it will be a lot easier

I don't find it too much of a challenge, but I know what you mean. Sometimes I wonder if I should send a message to someone I haven't spoken to on Facebook for ages, but I'm afraid to in case they might think I'm stalking - which I'm not but they might think I am.

I left FB since it was making me depressed. I couldn't stand seeing photos of people in relationships and then comparing myself to them. The envy made me crazy to the point where I had to leave FB behind to escape it. It seems like many couples on FB like to rub it in on you and make others who are single jealous.

I stopped using my Facebook account, I have learned I'm just as bad socializing online as I am offline :x

I use it as my blog. And a free place to back up my photos.
