About a year ago I self-diagnosed myself with AS. It really explains why I am the way I am. I am 34 and have been married for almost 13 years. I have not told my wife about my conclusion about AS. She does know what AS is. She was the one who told me about it because she once worked with someone that had it. It really described me and as I started to research AS and took a few quizes I now know that I do have it.

So my questions is; Should I tell my wife? If so, how do I go about doing that? Has anyone else had to do this in the past? How did you do it and how did your spouse handle it?

She's your wife! Of course you should tell her. She's the one person who's closest to you in the world, the person you teamed up with to take on the world together, the person you're in love with. If anyone should know, it's her.

If you have problems explaining, why don't you bring her to WP? We can bring her up to speed. We're used to NTs dropping in with the silliest questions sometimes. :)

For me, AS explains why I need a lot of alone time for walks, intellectual projects, etc

(I am not married. Have had several relationships.)

Maybe your wife worked it out first, and that's why she mentioned it to you.

You should talk to her.
