One of the burners on my stove has a tunnel to the oven. There are a couple inches of space between the inside/bottom of the burners and the outside/top of the oven. Today, I found out that the inside/bottom of the burner with the tunnel, and outside/top of the oven, surrounding the tunnel, is covered with juices and sugars from when I bake sweet potatoes (in the oven). The mess has even spread to the outside/top of the stove under the inside/bottom of the burner in front of the burner with the tunnel. This is now very hard to clean. How do I make sure this does not happen the next time I bake sweet potatoes, or anything else for that matter?
