Music (Original Song): "Man or Muppet" from "The Muppets" Music and Lyric by Bret McKenzie

Actress in a Leading Role: Rooney Mara in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"

Actress in a Supporting Role: Melissa McCarthy in "Bridesmaids"

These are my votes. They make up 3 of the 4 movies I've seen this past year so I might not be the best judge.

It seems that the Oscar have more brains and taste this year than the Golden Globes did, especially in the best animated feature category.

Golden Globes:
Adventures of TinTin
Arthur Christmas
Cars 2
Puss in Boots
Rango

Oscars:
A Cat in Paris
Chico & Rita
Kung Fu Panda 2
Puss in Boots
Rango

Happy to see Albert Nobbs getting nominated in a few categories, and Jane Eyre in one category. Though I must say that I think Mia Wasikowska deserved a nomination for Best Actress in Jane Eyre, but I'm just biased because she's one of my favorite actresses.

I'm frankly shocked that Hugo got nominated in nearly every category. When I saw trailers for it, I thought, "This is going to be a bad movie". Guess I shouldn't knock a movie till I've watched it.

WOW!

I expected Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 to win Best Picture, but didn't make it. :(

Brad Pitt (Moneyball) was lucky to make it to the Oscars except for DiCaprio.

But I was surprised to see some of my favorite films get nominated in a few categories.

Yeah, the Academy tends to overlook genre films (comedies, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, etc.)

...and I'm gonna bet it'll mostly likely win them all (sorry, but "Hugo" is a great film that really deserves more attention). :)

I plan on seeing The Artist tommorow at the earliest, if not I'll wait until Friday or Saturday.

I'm tempted to put "A Separation" on my ballot for Foreign Film too since it looks like a sure winner. But if there's any category in years past that has had more sure winners come up on the losing end, it's been Best Foreign Film.
