Thing (1982) looked kinda boring and somewhat little action in my opinion with cheesy visual effects,

but Thing (2011) is kinda better. Really good cast, spectacular visual effects for the creatures, and some good action.

Haven't seen any of them, but I wanted to see the remake/prequel.

The thing (to some ppl who want to know what it's about) is when explorers go to some base camp and explore a creature is attacking them by hiding inside any human form.

I've seen plenty of horror films, only The Thing (1982) really scared me *shudders* (remembers the dog part). The Thing (2011)? Didn't even make me jump, didn't do the 1982 version justice

That's for sure.

2011- Kate Lloyd (Played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead) did pretty good in her performance. Had better cinematography than the original, and the creatures look frightening in the film, even though it's a PREQUEL to the original.

1982- Well, I don't have much to say about this, but not kinda interested in seeing this one. John Carpenter's idea of using some cheesy and un-terrifying creatures in the film.

1951- Don't know about the VERY first one, but I heard it was OK since it had some best moments in the film.

Which Thing do you recommend I should watch first?

Give me the 1951 version. The '82 version was okay, but it was more horror than thriller if that makes any sense.

That's the only one I watched. I quite liked it.

John Carpenter's The Thing (1982) is way better than the recent movie in every way. One of the best horror movies out there. I was very disappointed with the 2011 movie, the CGI doesn't compare to the practical effects of the '82 film.
