I get all my news online, from Aljazeera English. I do not watch any of the American news outlets as they are too focused on the USA and on entertainment.

And a lot of meaningless dribble. Clinton agrees.

I'd say for TV, Fox News and will watch CBS with the folks some night. I probably get most of my news off of internet sights and blogs anymore though. A few sights I enjoy learning from, and read most days are:

CNN is the BS network. They made war into a dehumanized, arcade style trivial entertainment. They deliver all the propaganda handed to them directly from the pentagon on a silver platter, and they ignore/censor unfavorable stories. No journalism to be found on CNN, nope, they are bought and paid for.

They provide the baseline reference for comparisons with BBC and NPR even better than FOX.

Throw in some Irish and Canadian news sources, and I get a fairly balanced idea of what's really going on.

I think its kinda funny that Comedy central is in the lead. I am sorry that I did not include an other column, and PBS, BBC. I didn't know that you cannot add poll options once its started.

The reason I am not sorry for Al Jazeera not being an option is I had not heard of it until now so I would not have thought of it. People would have had to vote for it in the other column from my ignorance.

I think the main reason that the votes for Comedy central is so high is that people who would not normally watch the news sometimes watch those shows. So it is reaching an audience that normally would not be included.

If I'm not in the mood I do that too. I don't watch TV I just go online. Local news can be very depressing especially when you see those amber alerts and missing people found dead the majority of the time. Still I do try and keep up with the Amber alerts and anyone missing just in case.

I disagree with Ms. Clinton, and most Democrats as well as most Republicans, on many things already, this is just one more of them. I vote democratic socialist.

well if it doesn't entertain and achieve a political end, it is not news or newsworthy. So says the masses who supply CNN, FOx, MSNBC, ComedyCentral, etc. their viewer ratings.

al jazeera tends to be more legit then fox, msnbc, etc. it may sometimes have a bias but it tends to run their stories through far less filters.

Have you seen that documentary Consuming Kids? I always had a feeling there was a sort of surgically precise psychological element to what they show on TV and how it's presented, but I didn't know the agenda to target young kids was so great. After seeing that, I don't think it would be a bad idea to get rid of the TV. Actually it's not really the TV that's so bad, but the TV shows you pay to watch.

I used to watch tv when i was a kid.
Like music, it was like a drug to me, and that concerned me, even as a 6-10 year old.
(it wouldn't be until much later that i could describe it like that, hell, i didn't know what drugs were)
As a child I assumed that the media's chemical and emotional affect on me was unique, and it didn't have such an effect on everyone else like that, for i could not imagine a world in which people didn't think about the things that affected themselves in that way.

I routinely bring such issues up with kids, try to figure out what they are thinking... the response as you can imagine is mixed.

We don't teach our children to think.. and that is what keeps the collective insanity flowing.
