Well there is plenty of free info on ASDs out there but it may not be good and there is plenty of good material out there (check the reading material stickie at the top of this forum) but not much of it is free.
Aside from Tacker's book that momsparky just posted the link for there is the index of good threads that momsparky has been graciously compiling (did someone already post this?):

I have found some good articles in this free online magazine:

Also, there's another poster here, BlondeAmbition who has this website: http://www.freevideosforautistickids.com/ I have to admit, it doesn't mesh with our needs, so I haven't used it myself.

There are also several magazines out there that specialize in Autism, and put their content on the web for free. Autism Speaks (itself often a good resource) has a list here: http://www.autismspeaks.org/family-serv ... ewsletters

Other sources:
http://autismdigest.com
http://www.psychologytoday.com/topics/autism (I follow Lynne Soraya and John Robison, who blog there)

RDI has a good focus, however if you can find an ABA program that is well rounded and socially focused in a positive way. Many ABA programs also include RDI and floortime as well. A good program will draw on a variety of therapies to make a program that is specialized for your child. What it comes down to is WHO is running your programming. You need to find a company who has programs and goals that match your goals for your kiddo.

Please go to the "autism links" page of my free website, www.freevideosforautistickids.com, for links to explanations of various types of therapies. The website is being reorganized in order to provide better navigation and in order to better incorporate my educational YouTube channel material, but all of the "links" buttons on the side bar work.
