I tend to analyse everything, the information goes in, its processed and then a conclusion is drawn, this happens to everything a jar of jam, people, books.
It can be a real pain being too analytical.

One person said at work that I analyze things too much. Strange thing is, I also analyse the reason why I analyze and the advantages and disadvantages of doing so. After that I come to the conclusion that awareness exercises world be good for me. Then I found out the Buddha’s have been doing it for centuries.

Definately!

I used to break everything down until I understood it in and out, then decided I wanted to know why I was breaking everything down, then proceeding from there decided that question has an eternal answer, so the journey continues.

It seems likely that I am analytically inclined,
but I must take some time to give due consideration to the other possibilities.

Yes, although my analysis, despite its productiveness and thoroughness, can be slow. I am the type who really has to mull things over for a long while (mainly I think because I have to translate ideas and words into visual images so I can more fully understand them and then mentally manipulate them).

This makes for well-thought-out analysis, but for very poor comprehension of immediate situations.

Yeah I definitely do, but like Sophist, my analytical ablities can be slow but at least they are thorough too. I agree, Sophist, that in an immediate situation, the slowness part can be a bit of a problem. I too have to mull over things in order to grasp it better.

I'm like that, and also a bit of a perfectionist which makes the process even slower.

I analyze almost everything. I am currently analyzing my keyboard.

I'm a Virgo Rising. :D

I'm very analytical - it's one of my favorite pasttimes. I'm a pretty fast thinker too. I admittedly don't have much patience with slower thinkers. My dad's like that, and it drives me crazy. Sometimes I pass over details and have to backtrack, but otherwise my brain just zooms along like it's on some cerebral Autobahn or something. I revisit ideas a lot, for further analyzing, to get at deeper layers or look at it from a different angle. But since I'm not really a concrete thinker, despite what they say about AS, but instead much more intuitive and see understanding as multidimensional and layered (I'm an intp), I simply come to general "surface" conclusions very quickly, yet with the understanding that more will be revealed in time and further analysis. I don't feel the need to come to one resolute, definitive answer on most things, and I don't ever feel like understanding should be on a timeline - I'm actually much more comfortable with open-ended conclusions (not to mention I have a rather vague sense of time). Loose ends aren't always a bad thing.

I tend to over-analyse other people. This is why I want to work with them.

I'll get back to you on that one.
